The St. Thomas Aquinas College men's track team competed at the prestigious Penn Relay's in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania this past weekend. The men's 4 by 400 team of George Erazo, Mike Abelard, Frankie Colon and Vinny Modafferi ran their best time of the year of 3:20.61 finishing 49th overall in the competition. The team of Rich Ricca, Mike Abelard, George Erazo and Vinny Modafferi also ran a time of 3:34.57 finishing 21st overall.
The women's team competed as well this weekend at TCNJ Invitational in there final competition of the season. Chelsea Klinger ran a personal best of 5:07.69 in the 1500 meters placing 31st overall. Caroline Bjorkman ran 1:04.98 placing her 28th overall in the 400 and ran the 200 in 29.38 which was her personal best. Keeley Bateman ran the 800 in 2:23.46 which placed her 11th overall in the contest.
The men's team concluded there season at the Yale Sprintime Invitational on May 1st. George Erazo finished 2nd overall in the 400 with a time of 49.24 and as well as finishing 15th overall in the 200 with a new personal best of 22.80. Garvenchy Nicolas ran a new personal best in the 800 of 1:59.60 placing him 23rd overall.
