Pat Owens and Jimmy English of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football team have been selected to the 2021 National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society. The Spartan Student-Athletes were among 24 players from eight Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) member institutions selected for the prestigious honor, in the first season that sprint football players were recognized for the award.
This honorable academic distinction was bestowed upon 910 players from 255 schools that qualified for membership in the society's 15th year. In order to qualify for the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, student-athletes must have completed their final year of playing eligibility, attained a minimum GPA of 3.2, met all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirements and have been a starter or significant contributor.
