The No. 8-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball team makes their way to Chattanooga, Tennessee for the NCAA Division II Softball World Series, and will take on top seeded Saint Leo University in the opening game on Thursday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. inside of Frost Stadium at Warner Park.

St. Thomas Aquinas (38-12) punched its ticket to the World Series with a pair of extra innings victories over Assumption University (5-4 Final/9 Innings & 8-3 Final/8 Innings) in the East Super Regional, while Saint Leo (49-3-1) advanced to the finals with two wins over the University of Alabama in Huntsville (6-3 & 13-1) in the South Super Regional.
The maroon and gold bring an NCAA Division II-best 23-game winning streak into the next round of the tournament, along with a program record 38 victories.
STAC and Saint Leo have never met on the softball diamond either in regular season or postseason play. It will also be the World Series debut for the Spartans, while the Lions make their second appearance in the round of eight (2018).
The winner of Thursday's contest will take on the winner of No. 4 California State University San Marcos (55-10) vs. West Texas A&M University (52-8) on Friday (May 29) at noon, while the losers will face off in a win or go home matchup on Saturday (May 30) at 11:00 a.m.
