St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball player Sofia Marella was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans perfect 4-0 week on the diamond, with wins over Felician University and conference opponent Molloy University last week.

Marella (Cranston, R.I.) claimed her second Player of the Week honors of the season by hitting .533 (8-for-15) with four homers, 13 RBI and four runs scored to lead STAC to a 4-0 week to stretch its winning streak to 11 games, the longest such streak in the 47-year history of the program. In addition, the sophomore designed player recorded her 100th career hit against Felician.
