St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball player Emma Grace Popp was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans 5-1 week on the diamond, with wins over Post, Bridgeport and conference opponent Staten Island last week.

Popp (Buffalo, N.Y.) registered a 3-0 record with wins against the Eagles, Purple Knights and Dolphins. Against Post, the freshman pitcher twirled a 4-0 shutout with 12 strikeouts while allowing just three hits. For the week, she posted a 3.00 ERA with 24 strikeouts and only three walks.
