Sparkill, N.Y. - A quartet of St. Thomas Aquinas College softball players have earned Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-East Region selections, as Sarah Clancy (Chino Hills, Calif.), Jessica Feerick (Hyde Park, N.Y.) Elyse Marcano (Middletown, N.Y.) and Eliana Raposo (Wareham, Mass.) each received recognition on Monday.
Clancy's pitching brilliance earned her the ECC Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-Conference accolades, NFCA All-Region honors and placed her among the leaders nationally among approximately 600 pitchers in the NCAA Division II circuit. She wrapped up the 2024 season second in the nation in games started (33), third in all of Division II in both complete games (27) and appearances (42) and 25th nationally with 21 wins. She compiled a record of 21-12 with three saves and an earned run average of 2.89, while mowing down 172 opposition hitters in 227.1 total innings.
Raposo, the ECC co-Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference pick and NFCA All-Region honoree delivered for the Spartans as a hitter and pitcher. At the plate, she led the team in batting average (.374), on-base percentage (.422), slugging percentage (.642), home runs (8) and doubles (16) and RBI (50) while hitting near the top of the batting order. In the circle, she has compiled a 3.54 earned run average on the way to a 13-11 record. In 150.1 innings, she struckout 63 batters.
Marcano took home her second straight ECC All-Conference accolades in 2024, while setting a new program single-season record with 70 hits. She paced the STAC offensive production in many categories, including hits (70), triples (6) and runs scored (47). Her speed, situational awareness were also always on display, as Marcano swiped 15 of 18 bases this season.
Feerick excelled as both a third baseman and a catcher in her first season in Sparkill, earning All-Conference kudos from the ECC. She finished second on the team in RBI (37) and added three homers, while placing 23rd in all of Division II in successful sacrifice fly attempts with five.
