Springfield, Mass. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team picked up their third straight East Coast Conference victory on Saturday by downing American International College, 3-1, at Henry A. Butova Gymnasium.
STAC moves to 9-11 overall and remains perfect in ECC play at 3-0, while AIC falls to 1-15 and 0-3.
The Spartans earned victories in sets one and two to put the host Yellow Jackets on the ropes, but AIC kept their slim hopes alive with a win in set three. However, STAC slammed the door shut on any talk of a comeback with strong set four to end the day's events.

How it Happened
- As a team, St. Thomas Aquinas recorded 43 kills compared to American International's 44. The Spartans also had 13 blocks and 41 assists, while the Yellow Jackets tallied 4 blocks and 43 assists.
- STAC outhit AIC by a .290 to .208 margin for the match.
- Kyran Versteegen paced the Spartans offense with a match-high 17 kills. Versteegen also registered a serve assist, two service aces, a dig and one block assist.
- Marcus Franck tallied a team-high 34 serve assists (8.5 assists/set). He also accumulated a kill, five digs and two block assists for the maroon and gold.
- Jakob Schwarz picked up seven kills, two service aces, four digs and four block assists on Saturday.
- Alan Santiago and Luis Grath racked up five kills apiece, with Santiago adding five service aces, seven digs and four block assists, and Grath tallying a service ace, two digs and three block assists against the Yellow Jackets.
- David Weiss contributed four kills, a serve assist, one dig, two solo blocks and six block assists.
- Santiago Valenca accumulated two kills and a dig in the match.
- Liberos Ivaylo Todorov and Bas van Deventer combined to put together a four serve assist and five dig effort for the Spartans.
