St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball players Kyran Versteegen and David Weiss were each selected for the East Coast Conference's weekly awards on Monday, following the Spartans 1-1 weekend on the court in road matches against Harvard University and No. 20 New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Versteegen was tabbed as the ECC Player of the Week, while Weiss scored ECC Defensive Player of the Week kudos.
Versteegen (Sittard, Netherlands) recorded 39 kills, two serve assists, two service aces, four digs, a solo block and four block assists over two road matches in nine total sets against the Crimson and Highlanders. The STAC junior outside hitter also held a .233 hitting percentage in that span.
Weiss (Oyten, Germany) recorded nine digs, a service ace, four digs and ten block assists over nine total sets in road matches against Harvard and NJIT.
STAC (6-11) opens ECC play on Thursday, March 12, taking on Roberts Wesleyan University at the Spartan Athletic Complex. First serve between the Spartans and Redhawks is set for 5:00 p.m.
