St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball player Kyran Versteegen was named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans matches with Fairleigh Dickinson University and D'Youville University last week.

Versteegen (Sittard, Netherlands) recorded a .212 hitting percentage over two matches last week, including a .429 average against D'Youville. The St. Thomas Aquinas freshman setter totaled 13 kills, 42 assists, two service aces, eight digs, one solo block and seven block assists in that span. Versteegan ranks third in the ECC in aces per set (.300) and assists per set (5.50).  

STAC heads back out on the road, visiting Sacred Heart University on Wednesday, January 31. The Spartans and Pioneers will square off inside of the William H. Pitt Athletic & Convocation Center beginning at 7:00 p.m.
