Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - These days, it doesn't matter where the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis team plays its matches. Whether at the Riley Family Tennis Courts or on the road, the Spartans are red hot, beating every opponent they've faced over the last three weeks, and that streak continued on Wednesday with a 4-3 victory over Vassar College.

STAC improves to 12-3 with their sixth straight triumph, while Vassar falls to 9-6.

The Spartans set the tone early by capturing the doubles point with two out of three victories, highlighted by a 7-6 (7-4) win by No. 2 Don Vinz Lominoque and Nagamitsu Kuroda, along with a 7-6 (7-3) triumph by No. 1 Henry Ronnberg and Theo Renoux. With a 1-0 lead in hand, STAC had the early advantage in the match.

When the sides turned their attention to singles play, Vassar quickly tied up the contest with an early victory. However, the maroon and gold rebounded at No. 3 and No. 2 with both Nagamitsu Kuroda and Henry Ronnberg earning triumphs to put the Brewers on the ropes. Unfortunately, Vassar would not go quietly, taking wins at both No. 4 and No. 6 to square the match at 3-3.

For a second straight day, the deciding singles bout would be at No. 5, only this time it would go to a third set. Nathan Yacar would score the first victory 7-6 (4), but Shrey Choudhary tied things up with a 6-2 win. In the tie-breaking set, the Spartans sophomore would be victorious 7-5 to secure the team victory for STAC.
