#2 STAC To Host #3 Adelphi in NCAA Division II Men's Tennis East Regional

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis team has earned the #2 seed and hosting duties in the upcoming 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship East Regional Preliminary Round and will take on #3 seeded Adelphi University.

Hosting an East Regional match for the first time in program history, the Spartans will be looking to advance to back-to-back championship finals in the round of 16.

STAC finished the 2025-2026 regular season with a 18-5 overall record and a 5-1 ECC mark. The maroon and gold won a share of the East Coast Conference Regular Season title with Queens College and fell to the Knights in the Championship Final.

The Spartans and Panthers (15-7, 8-2 NE10) faced off against each other just once during the 2025-26 regular season, with STAC defeating Adelphi, 5-2 on the Garden City, New York campus. The squads have faced each other eleven times going back to the 2006-07 season. Adelphi currently holds a slim 6-5 advantage in those previous matchups. However, St. Thomas Aquinas College has won the last five contests.

Preliminary Round matches will begin on May 11-12 at top-seeds Queens College (QC Tennis Bubble - Flushing, N.Y.) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Riley Family Tennis Courts - Sparkill, N.Y.). The winners of #1 Queens vs. #4 Assumption and #2 St. Thomas Aquinas vs. #3 Adelphi automatically advances to the finals.

The winners of each regional bracket will advance to the 2026 NCAA Men's Tennis Championship Finals, which will take place May 20-24 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona. The Pacific West Conference and the City of Surprise will serve as hosts.
