STAC Men's Tennis Holds #6 Position, Women to #4 in Latest NCAA East Region Poll

Sparkill, N.Y. - On Wednesday, the NCAA released its latest Men's and Women's Tennis Regional polls, with both St. Thomas Aquinas College teams continuing to hold spots in their respective East rankings.

On the men's side, the Spartans retain the #6 position in the East. St. Thomas Aquinas currently holds an 15-7 (4-2 ECC) record with victories over Jefferson, USciences, West Chester, Saint Michael's, Manhattanville, Adelphi, Edinboro, Quincy, Bentley, Daemen (2), Post, Dominican and District of Columbia (2). The team's blemishes come via Division I opponents, Fairleigh Dickinson and North Dakota, along with Rockhurst, Queens (2), Chestnut Hill and Le Moyne.

Meanwhile, the Lady Spartans squad slips one spot to #4 in the region. STAC currently holds a 19-2 (4-1 ECC) record with victories over New Haven, Jefferson, Le Moyne, Daemen, D'Youville, Queens, Dominican, West Chester, Molloy, Edinboro, Quincy, Rockhurst, Bentley, Division I Merrimack, Wilmington, Chestnut Hill, USciences, Adelphi and Post. The team's only defeats come at the hands of UDC in the regular season and Queens College in the ECC Tournament.

Postseason action heats up beginning on Friday, as the men's team heads to the ECC Tennis Tournament, which will be held on April 29-30 at Queens College. The Spartans enter the semifinal round as the #2 seed and will battle #3 seeded University of the District of Columbia for a chance to advance to the tournament final, facing the winner of #1 Queens College and #4 Daemen University.
