Odysseas Papaioannou has been named the ECC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while Ludovico Truffelli takes home ECC Rookie of the Week honors on Monday, following the Spartans 5-0 shutout victory over the University of the District of Columbia last weekend.
Papaioannou went 2-0 in doubles and singles matches last week for the Spartans. Papaioannou and doubles partner Valentin Baranyi beat UDC's Maksim Bahdanovich & Mauricio Corty, 6-2. He also shut out the Firebird's Jake Bedforth in singles action 6-0, 6-0.
Truffelli also went 2-0 in doubles and singles matches last week for STAC. Truffelli and doubles partner Eduard Simo beat UDC's Louis Mangeon & Juan Estevez Hernandez, 6-2. He also beat the Firebird's Maksim Bahdanovich in singles action 6-1, 6-1.
St. Thomas Aquinas (10-4) faces Chestnut Hill College on Monday, April 4 at 1:00 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
