HOW IT HAPPENED:
Roberts Wesleyan struck first in the opening quarter, getting an unassisted goal from Colton Ugine to take an early lead. STAC quickly answered as Abe Wallace finished a feed from Max Benoit to even the score, but the Redhawks responded with three straight goals—including tallies from Brady Kustra, Nixon Karcz, and Chase Wilson—to build a 4–1 advantage. The Spartans rallied late in the quarter, as Lou Takacs sparked the run before Liam Noseworthy converted on a man-up opportunity and Cam Wallace tied the game at 4–4 with just over a minute remaining.
Roberts Wesleyan regained control in the second quarter behind a dominant stretch from Chase Wilson, who factored into multiple goals during the period. The Redhawks opened with four unanswered scores, including two more from Wilson, to extend the lead to 8–4. Christian Rodriguez briefly stopped the run with a late goal for STAC, but a buzzer-beater from Wilson pushed the margin to 9–5 at halftime.
STAC showed signs of life in the third quarter, capitalizing on a man-up opportunity as Nathan Smith finished a pass from Rodriguez to cut into the deficit. However, the Spartans were unable to sustain momentum, and Roberts Wesleyan maintained a three-goal cushion heading into the final frame.
The Spartans mounted a push in the fourth quarter, with Cam Wallace and Nathan Thomas scoring to trim the deficit to one. After a Roberts Wesleyan response from Cody Coleman, Rodriguez struck again to make it a one-goal game at 10–9. Still, Wilson delivered the dagger for the Redhawks with his fifth goal of the game, sealing an 11–9 victory despite STAC's late surge.
