Fairfield, Conn. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Ice Hockey team concluded another record setting season on Thursday evening, falling to Sacred Heart University 8-3 in the program's third consecutive Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference Championship final at Martire Family Arena.
STAC wraps up its campaign with a 17-5-2 overall record and an 11-1 MCHC mark.
This season the Spartans compiled many record-setting milestones, including setting a new mark for wins in a season (17) under tenth year Head Coach Matt Schuster, eclipsing the previous total of 16 in 2024-2025.
In Thursday's final, Nicholas Delia, Jason Desalvo and Jeremy Poggi scored a goal apiece for the Spartans. Goaltender Michael Pippo (L, 11-3) stopped 35-of-42 shots faced in 58:46 of action.
