Forward Andrew Fenninger and goaltender Michael Pippo of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Ice Hockey team have been named the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) Players of the Month, following the Spartans 4-1 October.
Fenninger (So.|New City, N.Y.) tallied 2 goals and 8 assists for 10 points in three conference matchups, and scored the game winning goal in a 6-3 victory over Western Connecticut State University on October 11.
Pippo (Jr.|New Rochelle, N.Y.) allowed just 5 goals on 96 total shots in 120 minutes of action during October. The Spartans netminder went 2-0 in two MCHC games, with a 2.50 goals against average and a .948 save percentage.
STAC (6-4-0, 3-0-0 MCHC) resumes conference play on Saturday, November 9 against SUNY Maritime College. The Spartans and Privateers lock horns at World Ice Arena in Queens, New York with puck drop set for 10:00 p.m.
