STAC Ice Hockey Moves To #33 In Latest ACHA National Poll

Riding a four-game win streak, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Ice Hockey team has jumped up two spots to 33rd in the latest American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Poll, released earlier this week. STAC holds an 8-4 overall record and a 4-0 MCHC mark, and recently scored victories over York College (9-3 & 8-4), Indiana University of Pennsylvania (3-2) and SUNY Maritime College (7-2).

The maroon and gold are led by sophomore Andrew Fenninger with 13 goals and 20 assists (33 points), freshman Anthony Prunty with 13 goals and 8 assists (21 points) and freshman Jason Desalvo with 9 goals and 19 assists (18 points) over the first 12 games. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the puck, goaltender Michael Pippo has a 4-3 record with a 4.87 goals against average and a .901 save percentage, appearing in seven regular season contests played to date. Teammate Theo Morris has the Spartans four other victories (4-1), while posting a 4.46 goals against average and an .874 save percentage over eight games.

The team's offense scores 5.33 goals per game, while their defense & goaltending lets up an average of 4.67 goals per game.

St. Thomas Aquinas (8-4-0, 4-0-0 MCHC) takes the short trip into Bergen County, New Jersey for an MCHC matchup with Yeshiva University on Saturday, November 16. Puck drop between the Spartans and Maccabees is set for 8:45 p.m. at the John T. Wright Ice Skating Arena (Mackay Park) in Englewood.
