STAC Ice Hockey Rises To No. 23 In Latest ACHA M3 National Poll

Returning to the ice this weekend to resume their 2024-2025 season, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Ice Hockey team has risen to No. 23 in latest American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Men's Division 3 National Poll released on Friday. STAC currently holds a 10-6 overall record and a perfect 6-0 MCHC mark through 16 games.

The maroon and gold are led by sophomore Andrew Fenninger with 17 goals and 26 assists (43 points), freshman Anthony Prunty with 15 goals and 9 assists (24 points) and sophomore Jason Desalvo with 11 goals and 23 assists (34 points) over the first 16 games. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the puck, junior goaltender Michael Pippo has a 6-4 record with a 4.24 goals against average and a .904 save percentage, appearing in ten regular season contests played to date. Teammate and sophomore Theo Morris has the Spartans four other victories (4-2), while posting a 4.81 goals against average and an .880 save percentage over ten games.

The team's offense scores 5.50 goals per game, while their defense & goaltending lets up an average of 4.56 goals per game.

STAC (10-6, 6-0 MCHC) faces off with Yeshiva University on Saturday night (January 25) at Sport-O-Rama Ice Rinks. Puck drop between the Spartans and Maccabees is set for 8:30 p.m. in Rockland County.
