STAC Men's Basketball Vaults Back to #18 in Latest NABC Rankings

A perfect week on the hardwood, along with victories in seven of eight contests during the month of January, has vaulted the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team back into the #18 position in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II poll released on Tuesday afternoon.

Following STAC's sweep contests over the University of the District of Columbia (100-74) and the College of Staten Island (103-62) last week, the maroon and gold now hold an impressive 19-3 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in the East Coast Conference.

The Spartans are currently being led by James Patterson (Fr./G/Richmond, Va.) - averaging 15.0 points & 7.3 rebounds per game, DeVante Jamison (Jr./G/Dorchester, Mass.) - averaging 13.8 points & 5.7 assists per game, Jamal Barnes (Jr./G/Temple Hills, Md.) - averaging 12.2 points per game and Antonio Vendola (Sr./G/Fernandina Beach, Fla.) - averaging 11.8 points per game.

The team's offense currently averages 86.1 points scored per game, while their defense surrenders an average of only 71.7 points per game.

St. Thomas Aquinas College heads to Rochester for another ECC matchup, this time with Roberts Wesleyan University, on Wednesday, February 1. Tip-off between the Spartans and Redhawks is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Voller Athletic Center.
