Big Weekend Propels STAC Men's Basketball into NABC Top 25

Following an impressive Western New York sweep, with victories over both Daemen College and D'Youville University this past weekend, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team has jumped into the top 25 at #24 in the lastest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll released on Tuesday afternoon.

STAC now holds an impressive 22-4 overall record and a 15-1 mark in the ECC, which puts the Spartans in a first place tie with the Daemen Wildcats atop the conference standings.

The Spartans are currently being led by Demetre Roberts (Senior/Guard/Mount Vernon, N.Y.) - averaging 15.6 points & 4.2 assists per game, Osbel Caraballo (Senior/Forward/Bolivar, Venezuela) - averaging 15.3 points & 5.9 rebounds per game, Jamal Barnes (Sophomore/Guard/Temple Hills, Md.) - averaging 11.7 points & 3.4 rebounds per game and Grant Singleton (Senior/Guard/Sumter, S.C.) - averaging 11.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

The team's offense currently averages 85.8 points scored per game, while their defense surrenders an average of only 72.2 points per game.

STAC wraps up its 2021-22 regular season schedule, hosting the University of the District of Columbia on Wednesday, February 23 (7:30 p.m.) and then travels to the College of Staten Island on Saturday, February 26 (3:00 p.m.).
