The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team has earned the #7 seed in the East Regional of the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament and will take on #2 Franklin Pierce University.

St. Thomas Aquinas had already qualified for its seventh consecutive consecutive trip the the field of 64 on the strength of Sunday's 59-48 ECC Final victory over the Daemen College. Eight bids were awarded in the region with champions from the ECC (St. Thomas Aquinas), Northeast-10 (Bentley), and Central Atlantic (Felician) capturing automatic bids and the others issued on an at-large basis.
The Spartans (26-4, 17-1 ECC) and Ravens (18-10, 12-7 NE10) have not faced off against each other in either the regular season or tournament play during Tobin Anderson's nine-year tenure as Head Coach at St. Thomas Aquinas. In fact, the teams have only played each other seven times in the history of both programs, with STAC holding a 5-2 advantage in the series.
First Round games will begin on Saturday, March 12 at top-seed and hosts Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Times for each of the opening round contests will be released in the coming days, and the winner will advance to face the winner of #3 Saint Anselm vs. #6 New Haven. The other side of the East bracket sees #1 Bentley taking on #8 Felician, with #4 Dominican squaring off with #5 Pace.
