The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team has been ranked #16 and #10 nationally by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and D2SIDA, respectively, in polls released on Tuesday afternoon.
Last week's sweep of contests against Mercy College (91-77), at the College of Saint Rose (97-92) and two at Roberts Wesleyan College (81-76 and 90-85) has STAC sitting with a perfect 6-0 overall record, and an unblemished 5-0 ECC mark.
The Spartans are currently being led by Grant Singleton (Junior/Guard/Sumter, S.C.) - averaging 19.5 points, 4.3 rebounds & 2.7 assists per game, Demetre Roberts (Junior/Guard/Mount Vernon, N.Y.) - averaging 16.0 points, 2.8 rebounds & 4.8 assists per game and Osbel Caraballo (Junior/Forward/Bolivar, Venezuela) - averaging 14.8 points, 7.8 rebounds & 2.8 assists per game.
The team's offense currently averages 95.0 points scored per game, while their defense surrenders an average of only 80.5 points per game.
St. Thomas Aquinas closes out their road trip on Wednesday, February 17, in an ECC tilt at Mercy College. They return to Aquinas Hall to host Molloy College on Saturday and Sunday, February 20 and 21, with both games starting at 2:00 pm.
