Spartans Start Spring with 4th Place Finish in Pawley’s Island

Pawleys Island, S.C. - The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Golf team opened their spring campaign with a 4th place finish at the Pawleys Island Beach Bash hosted by Ohio Dominican University. This was the team's first action after the winter layoff.  

During the first round of play, the team was led by Djaia Darrason who carded an opening round 73 (+1). Right behind him was Nolan Skaggs who managed to shoot 74 while Tanner Little carded an opening 75. Diego Ocasio rounded out the team scoring with a round of 76 which was good for a 1st round team score of 298. The team sat in a tie for 4th place after the first day of play.

In the second round of play, Tanner Little led the team with a 1-under par 71. Diego Ocasio also improved on his first round's score, shooting an even par 72. Noah Barnatt rebounded nicely after a tough 1st round, shooting a 78 while Djaia Darrason struggled on his back 9, finishing at 81. The team's 2nd round score of 302 left them in 4th place behind the 25th, 15th and 16th ranked teams in the country.

STAC is back in action on March 31 and April 1 in Miami Beach, Florida at the Barry University Battle At The Shores.
