Forward Madelief Heijmans of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Field Hockey team has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, following the Spartans 1-1 week on the pitch with matches against Adelphi University (L, 9-3) and Franklin Pierce University (W, 3-2).
Heijmans (Oisterwijk, Netherlands) tallied three goals and added an assist over two games last week for the Spartans. The freshman forward scored a goal and added an assist against the Panthers, before netting two goals, including the game winner versus the Ravens.
STAC (2-10, 1-6 NE10) is on the road for its next two matches, first visiting Southern Connecticut State University on Tuesday, October 15. The Spartans and Owls will tangle in NE10 action inside of Jess Dow Field in New Haven, Connecticut at 4:00 p.m.
