STAC Sprint Football Falls to Navy 28-7

Hillburn, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football team dropped a 28-7 decision to the United States Naval Academy on Friday Evening at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

STAC slips to 1-1 on the year, while Navy improves to 2-0.

STAC HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

  • Damari Hamilton led the Spartans' run game with 11 rushing attempts for 27 total yards. Additionally, Trevon Washington ran four times for 24 yards and a score.
  • Nickolas Simonetta caught four passes for 37 total yards.
  • Starting quarterback Tynez Harp completed 12 of 24 passes, for 143 yards, while also throwing two passes for interception. He also had nine rushing attempts.
  • Brandon Jimenez recorded 6.5 tackles (4 solo, 5 assist), forced a fumble and dropped Navy quarterback Luke O'Connell for a sack.
  • Prince Alvarado (5.5 tackles) and Luigi Biondolillo (0.5 tackle) each picked off O'Connell, while Marc Hector (3.0 tackles) and Eric Neal, Jr. (1.0 tackle) each forced fumbles in the contest.
