Sprint Football Drops Second Straight as Penn Slips Past STAC, 15-14

Philadelphia, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football team dropped its second straight contest on Friday evening, falling 15-14 to the University of Pennsylvania at historic Franklin Field in the City of Brotherly Love.

STAC falls to 1-2 on the season, while Penn moves to 1-2.

STAC HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

  • Nickolas Simonetta led the Spartans' offense with six receptions totaling 51 yards. His longest catch went for 18 yards.
  • Damari Hamilton and Tynez Harp drove the maroon and gold ground game, with Hamilton running for 38 yards on 12 attempts and Harp rushing nine times for 19 yards and a score.
  • Starting quarterback Tynez Harp completed 10 of 14 passes, for 133 yards, while also throwing an interception. His longest pass went for 29 yards.
  • On the defensive side of the ball, Armando Medley recorded eight total tackles (7 solo, 1 asst), while Dylan Honan took down seven of his opponents via tackles (7 solo)
  • Quakers QB Josh Johnson was felled by Daniel Cruz III for a loss of seven yards.
  • Trevon Washington ran the opening kickoff back 95 yards for a touchdown.
  • Kicker Andrew Stosko was successful on both of his extra point attempts.
