St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball player John Archer was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, for a second time this season, on Monday following the Spartans 4-1 week on the diamond, including a four-game series sweep over Lincoln University (Pa.).

In his final regular-season start for the Spartans, Archer (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) pitched his first career complete game against the Lions, allowing two runs (one unearned) on six hits, while issuing no walks and striking out seven to pick up his fourth victory in nine decisions.

No. 4 seeded STAC (23-25, 14-10 ECC) will take on the top-seed D'Youville University in the opening round of the ECC Baseball Tournament, which gets underway on Thursday, May 9 at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex in Uniondale, New York. First pitch between the Spartans and Saints is set for 3:00 p.m.
