Greg DiGiaro and Aaron Dona Earn Season's Final ECC Baseball Weekly Honors

St. Thomas Aquinas College's Gregory DiGiaro and Aaron Dona were each selected for the East Coast Conference's Weekly Baseball awards on Monday, as DiGiaro scored Player of the Week honors and Dona took home Pitcher of the Week accolades following the Spartans' 4-2 week on the diamond.

DiGiaro (Staten Island, N.Y.) hit .526 last week with 10 hits in 19 at-bats. The senior first baseman recorded two doubles and five homers while driving in 18 runs and scoring 10 times. He was also walked six times and was hit by a pitch for a .615 on-base percentage.

Dona (Gloversville, N.Y.) hurled seven scoreless innings to pick up a win in his final regular season start, a 14-1 victory over Queens. The grad-student righty, allowed only three hits and a walk in the game. He also set a new STAC single-season strikeout mark with 104, surpassing former Spartan Frankie Mosciatello's record (94 Ks) in 2017.

STAC (23-25 Overall, 16-8 ECC) opens the East Coast Conference Baseball Tournament as the #2 seed on Thursday, May 11, taking on #3 seeded Queens College. First pitch between the Spartans and Knights is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Mitchel Field in Uniondale, N.Y.
