On Friday, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released their All-East Region selections for the 2021 season.
St. Thomas Aquinas College's Alex Mack was named the NCBWA East Region Pitcher of the Year. In addition, Mack and teammate James Versage were named NCBWA All-Region First and Second Team selections, respectively.
Alex Mack (Gr./SP/Cornwall, N.Y.), in the final year of his spectacular collegiate career, posts a 7-0 record in nine appearances for St. Thomas Aquinas in 2021. Alex holds a 1.48 ERA with 73 strike outs, and became one of the East Region's best trios on the mound, along with fellow teammates Aaron Dona and Angelo Baez in the starting rotation. Mack also earned ECC Pitcher of the Year and ECC All-Conference First Team honors on May 13.
James Versage (Sr./OF/Cape May Court House, N.J.) in the last year of a stellar career with the Spartans, holds a .350 batting average (35-for-100), with 12 doubles, five homers, 35 RBI and 31 runs scored in 29 contests, to date. Versage was also named an ECC All-Conference First Team selection on May 13.
