MEN'S BASKETBALL
The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team won its fourth straight East Coast Conference Tournament Championship, and seventh title in the last eight years, with a 72-66 victory over Daemen University, in front of a raucous sellout crowd at Aquinas Hall Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
STAC now stands at 26-4 overall and clinches an automatic bid into the upcoming NCAA Division II Tournament - with seedings and matchups being announced later tonight - as the Spartans entered the weekend at No. 6 in the East Regional rankings.
The men's NCAA bracket and field will be announced during the selection show at 11 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball team fell short in its quest to win the ECC Women's Hoops Tournament Championship, as the Spartans suffered a 66-51 defeat at the hands of Daemen University on Sunday afternoon at Lumsden Gymasium in Western New York.
STAC slips to 21-8 on the year and now awaits the decision makers on the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball East Regional Committee to determine their D2 Tourney fate.
The women's field and NCAA bracket will be revealed during the Selection Show at 10:30 p.m. ET, also on NCAA.com.
