Alexa Huertas, Skylar Moreno, Antonio Vendola and Emmanuel Mena Jimenez were named the Spartan Athletes of the Month for January.

Emmanuel Mena Jimenez posted a first place finish in the Weight Throw (18.40m/60'4.5") at the Wagner College Invitational, while also setting a new school record in the event. The sophomore from West Haverstraw, N.Y. then placed third in the Weight Throw (17.05m/37'10.75") at the Ramapo College Season Opener. To close the month, Mena Jimenez once again set a new STAC mark in the Weight Throw (18.99m/62'3.75"), while finishing first in the event, and placed sixth in the Shot Put (14.19m/46'6.75") at the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational.
In recognition of his outstanding performances in the cage, Mena Jimenez was named the ECC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on January 9 and 30.
