Angelo Baez, Andrew Jemison, Amanda Castro and Tara Hagan were named the Spartan Athletes of the Month for May.
Amanda Castro, Softball:
Amanda Castro helped lead the Spartans to the ECC Softball Tournament Final during the month of May, as she posted a .429 batting average, going 9-for-21 at the plate, with a double, five RBI and four runs scored in seven games. Amanda was also 1-for-1 in stolen base attempts.
The junior second baseman from Long Beach, Calif. was also a mainstay defensively for the Spartans, as Castro posted a .973 fielding percentage.
In recognition of her outstanding season on the diamond, Amanda Castro was named a 2021 ECC Softball All-Conference Second Team selection on May 10.
