Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team opened East Coast Conference play on Saturday, hosting D'Youville University at Spartan Field. Holding a 12-1 halftime advantage, the visiting Saints recorded to a 20-2 victory over the Spartans.
STAC falls to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in ECC play, while DYU moves to 3-4 and 2-0.
Jada Garcia and Clemence Papleux led the Spartans' offense with a goal apiece on the afternoon. Goalie Lilah Magenheimer (L, 0-2) got her second straight start between the pipes for the maroon and gold and turned aside 12 of 32 shots faced.
Meanwhile, D'Youville was led by Sam Newlin, who tallied five goals and an assist, while Madison Handley added four goals and a helper and Danielle Gephart (1 assist) and Lauren Parker scored a hat trick apiece. Teammates Madison Buck (2 goals, 10 assists) Madison McGinn (2 goals) and Ireland Costigan (1 goal, 3 assists) also added to the Saints totals on the scoreboard. Goalie Kaylee Farias (W, 3-4), made 2 saves on 3 shots in almost 53 minutes of action, before being spelled by fellow netminder Sarah Reifsnyder for the final seven plus minutes of the contest. Reifsnyder stopped 1 of 2 shots sent in her direction.

- Clemence Papleux tallied a team-high three shots for the Spartans, with all three going on net.
- Juana Rodriguez, Jada Garcia and Victoria Calabro caused a Saints turnover apiece in the match.
- Jade Gorman and Morgan VanDover each scooped up four of the Spartans 17 total ground balls.
- STAC won 5 of 25 draw controls, with Morgan VanDover winning three.
