Men's Soccer Drops 4-1 Decision to Mercy

Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer team dropped a 4-1 conference decision to Mercy University on Wednesday afternoon at Spartan Field in Rockland County.

STAC falls to 6-5-2 overall and 5-2-0 in ECC action, while Mercy climbed back to the .500 mark at 5-5-4 and 2-1-3.

John Hollis tallied a pair of goals for the Mavericks, while teammates Mateo Bacigalupo and Mario de Roque Zazon chipped in a goal apiece. Goalkeeper Mateo Sanchez (W, 5-5-4) turned away seven of eight shots faced to even his record on the season.

Meanwhile, Jorge De La Vibora scored the lone goal for the Spartans with the assist credited to Kevon Evans. Keeper Dante Muntane (L, 5-4-2) made 7 stops on 11 shots in a losing effort.
