    MIDDLEBURY, CT – On the road for their second match in as many contests, the St. Thomas Aquinas College women’s tennis team fought hard against regional power Post University, but fell by the narrow margin of 5-4.  Post, who finished last season as the 9th-ranked team in the East region, won the match clinching point at 6th singles.

    CALDWELL, NJ – The St. Thomas Aquinas College women’s tennis team traveled to take on Caldwell University on Monday and left with a 7-2 victory to open the season.  After finding themselves in a 2-1 hole after the doubles portion, the Lady Spartans swept all six singles matches to secure the win.

    SPARKILL, NY – A marathon of a tennis match took place as the St. Thomas Aquinas College Lady Spartans took on the Rider Broncos on Saturday. The final match of the fall season took all of five hours to complete, and the Lady Spartans nearly defeated their NCAA Division I opponents before ultimately falling 4-3.

Signore won her top flight singles match, 6-2, 6-4 while O'Brien won the fourth flight, 6-3, 6-2. Raven DeLeon and Shannon Biehle paired up for an 8-3 doubles win.

Nyenyeri Kanefu won the second flight singles match, 6-3, 6-7(4-7) (10-8). Kanefu paired up with Shannon Biehle for an, 8-2 doubles win. Raven DeLeon and Carolyn Kopf won their doubles match, 8-4.

The Spartans were successful in the top three singles spots as Bianca Signore won, 6-2, 6-6, (7-5). Nyenyeri Kanefu and Sara O'Brien wone the second and third singles flight as well. Signore and O'Brien paired up for an 8-4 doubles win in the top flight.
