The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Molloy College, 15-10 on Saturday afternoon. Kellie Kucinski scored 5 goals and added an assist while Margaret Sharp had 3 goals and 1 assist. Samantha Lowney and Genevieve Stickney each chipped in two goals. Kaitlyn Lonergan had four saves for STAC.
STAC opened the game on the attack as Sabrina Prestano scored off an assist from Kucinski a little over three minutes in action. Kucinski followed up with a goal off a free position shot to give STAC a 2-0 lead. Molloy's Katie O'Brien answered with a goal that was eventually followed by two more STAC goals.
Sharp's first goal of the half broke open a 4-4 tie at 14:40 giving STAC a lead they would not let go of. STAC outscored Molloy 7-2 to finish out the half with an 11-6 lead. Both teams scored four goals in the second half as the Lady Spartans held on to win. Ruth Pluviose added a goal for STAC.
The Lady Spartans are 12-3 overall and 6-1 in the ECC. STAC will face LIU Post on Saturday evening at 5:00 p.m.
