The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team lost to Dowling College, 13-7 on Tuesday night. Margaret Sharp scored four of the Lady Spartan goals and added two assists. Kaitlyn Lonergan had 9 saves. Kellie Kucinski, Samantha Lowney and Genevieve Stickney each scored a goal.
The Golden Lions got on the scoreboard first before a goal from Stickney made the score, 2-1 in favor of Dowling. Sharp scored the only other STAC goal of the first half as Dowling held a 6-2 advantage at the break.
The Lady Spartans continued to fight scoring five second half goals but it was not enough to close the gap. STAC is now 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the ECC while Dowling moves to 9-3 and 6-2 in conoference play.
STAC will travel to Roberts Weslyan for a 3:00 game on Saturday.
