The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team lost to Dowling College, 16-4 in the semi-finals of the ECC playoffs. Genevieve Stickney scored 3 goals for the Lady Spartans and Kellie Kucinski scored one. Kaitlyn Lonergan had 7 saves for STAC.
The Dowling attack dominated from the opening minutes scoring five unanswered goals. Stickney scored STAC's first goal at the 21 minute mark unassisted. The Dowling offense continue to control the game. Kucinski scored her goal with just 2 minutes left in the first half and the Lady Spartans were down 9-2 at the half.
Stickney added two more goals late in the second half to finish out her season with a toatl of 46 goals. Margaret Sharp was held to just two shot attempts in the game and finished the season with a total of 58 goals.
Kaitlyn Lonergan finished the season with 146 saves. STAC finishes their season at 12-5 overall and will return 10 starters from this season. Dowling will advance to play LIU Post on Saturday for the championship.
