The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to the NYIT Bears, 7-0 and 11-3.  Michelle Sasso hit an RBI single to put STAC on the scoreboard in game two.  Katie Meyers hit an RBI triple in the 7th inning to score the Lady Spartans 3rd run.  Sharis Ruiz had 3 hits for the day.  

In game one, Ruiz went 2-for-3 with 2 of STAC's 4 hits.  The Lady Spartans offense struggle as they left 7 batters stranded.  Heather Clausen and Victoria Tiso each added a hit for STAC.  Jones went 3-for-4 with 1 RBI for NYIT.  Maura Power had the loss for STAC with 4 strike outs. 

In the second game, Melissa Place hit a lead off single in the 5th and was brought home by Sasso.  Clausen scored in the 6th inning after being hit by a pitch and advancing to second on a single by Alisa Cipolla.  In the 7th, Meyers drove home Rachael Hannawalt who led off with a single, to make the score 11-3.

The Lady Spartans will be back in action on Tuesday the 17th as they host Dowling for their senior day game.  STAC will honor the four seniors prior to the game.
