The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team split with Mercy College on Friday afternoon dropping game one, 7-0 before picking up a 3-1 win in game two.   In the win, Megan Sweezy was 2-for-3 with a 2 run home run in the second inning.  Maura Power held the Mavericks to 1 run, striking out 5 batters in 7 innings. 

STAC added an insurance run of a RBI single from Toni Ann Groth in the 6th scoring Kayla Cornish. The Lady Spartans struggled in game one as Gardner held them to 4 hits in the shutout. 

The Lady Spartans will play their final regular season road game on Saturday as they travel to Dowling College for a 12:00 start.
