The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team beat Bridgeport 4-2 on Saturday afternoon. The game was continued from their game on April 6th that ended in a 2-2 tie due to darkness. Bridgeport beat STAC, 3-1 and 2-0 in Saturday's double header in Connecticut.
In the first game of the day each team left off tied 2-2 after six innings. Caitlin Sherrier singled and scored off a 2-run Sharis Ruiz homer to win the game in the seventh.
In the first game of the scheduled double header, Angela Squillini homer to left center to give STAC a 1-0 lead in the second. The Purple Knights scored two runs in the third and one in the sixth to pull off the win.
In game two, STAC had 4 hits and left 6 on base as they fell 2-0. Bridgeport scored both their runs in the first inning and held on for the win.
STAC will play Dowling on Sunday for a 12:00 game.
