The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost at NYIT, 6-4 and 5-2.  Sharis Ruiz went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI in game one while Angela Squillini hit a 2-RBI single in the first inning of game two, scoring STAC's two runs.

Squillini and Michelle Sasso each added an RBI in the opening game.  Sasso went 2-for-3 at the plate.  Ruiz hit a 2-RBI single in the sixth inning to bring STAC within two, 6-4.  Samanrha Welsh picked up the loss giving up 7 hits and striking out 4 batters. 

The Lady Spartans got on the board quickly in the second game behind Squillini's single but struggled to score the rest of the way.  NYIT scored a run in the first then jumped out to a 4-2 lead as the scored three runs in the second.  Welsh went 2-for-3 in the game.  Maura Power got the loss giving up 5 runs. 

The Lady Spartans will play at Mercy on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
