The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to Molloy College, 15-1 and 14-4 in today's ECC double header.  Joy Ferriello was 2-for-3 with 2-RBI in the second game of the day.  Earlier in the day Angela Squillini hit an RBI single to score Sharis Ruiz.

In the opening game, Ruiz walked with one out.  Freshman Samantha Welsh singled to move Ruiz into scoring position.  Squillini drove home Ruiz to put STAC on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth.

In game two, STAC scored three runs in the third inning to bring them within five, 8-3.  Ruiz led off the inning with a single.  Michelle Sasso reached on an error and later both runners scored on two more Molloy errors.  Ferriello hit an RBI single to score the third run.  The Lady Spartans added a run in the bottom of the fifth behind another Ferriello RBI single. 

STAC will be back in action on Sunday when they host Chestnut Hill for a double header beginning at 12:00 noon.
