The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team dropped two games to Dowling College on Saturday afternoon, 6-5 and 10-2.  In the opening game of the day STAC made a late run in the top of the seventh taking the lead before Dowling scored two in the bottom to earn the win. Senior Pitcher Stephanie Sfraga picked up the loss.  In the second game of the day the Lady Spartans held a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the fourth before the Dowling bats got hot.

Dowling held a 3-0 lead going into the fifth inning before Jess Rickle scored on an error and Kelly Sullivan hit a RBI single to left field.  Dowling added a run in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-2 lead.  The Lady Sprtans scored three runs in the seventh behind RBI singles from Michelle Sasso and Heather Clausen, scoring Danielle Hart and Shariz Ruiz.  Joy Ferriello hit a sac fly to score Sasso and give the Lady Spartans a 5-4 lead.  Dowling retaliated in the bottom of the inning scoring two to earn the win.

Sasso hit a single in the top of the third and later scored on an error.  In the next inning Amanda Forsythe hit a RBI single to score Angela Squillini who hit a double during her at bat.  However it was not enough for the Lady Spartans as Dowling exploded for a six run inning in the fourth and followed with another four runs in the fifth.
