The East Coast Conference released the Winter/Spring Scholar Athletes of the Year this afternoon. St. Thomas Aquinas baseball player, Matt Matcovich was named the 2010 Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year. Fellow Spartans, Nick Cittadino, Jen Kugler, Michelle Sasso, Colleen Vogel and Shaun Weaver received honor roll for their sports.
Matcovich, a senior math major who holds a perfect 4.0
GPA, compiled a 6-2 record on the mound for the Spartans this
season. He struck out 42 batters in his 66.1 innings and
through three complete games while compiling a 3.12 ERA.
East Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year Awards are nominated by their institution and voted upon by the Faculty Athletic Representatives from each ECC institution.
